Jill Golub, Principal

Jill Nelson Golub is a leading expert in strategic communications, political campaigns and media strategy. She utilizes her over two decades of experience and extensive project management skills to help BMWL clients create and execute innovative, winning strategies. Jill is well-known for her ability to provide key strategic counsel while also achieving real results for her clients.

Jill’s diverse background includes work in local government, electoral politics, policy research, strategic communications, new media and grassroots organizing. At BMWL, she has helped a wide variety of organizations and individuals achieve success, including the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, Jewish Community Relations Council, Google, Marin County Parks, Nike Women’s Marathon, San Diego Association of Governments, San Francisco Unified School District, Santa Clara County, Service Employees International Union and UCSF Medical Center. She also dedicates much of her time to training, supporting and running campaigns for women who are seeking public office.

Jill relocated to San Francisco from New York, where she gained extensive experience as a political strategist and senior government aide. She served as chief of staff for New York City Council Member David Yassky, as political director for Yassky’s campaign for New York City Comptroller, and as director of external Affairs for Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer. Prior to that, Jill worked as a field organizer on a variety of campaigns throughout New York State and as a researcher for the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Jill has a degree in Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and lives in Oakland with her family.
